Multi-Branch Cataloging
Support for textbooks, journals, and term papers. Fields for ISBN, Author, Copies, and "Issuable vs. Reference Only" status. Each branch manages its own catalog independently.
Circulation & Lending
Issue and return system with dynamic lending rules. Students: 14 days, Faculty: 30 days. Cross-branch borrowing supported. Automatic overdue detection and fine calculation.
Automated Clearance System
One-click audit checks a student's ID against ALL branches. If no overdue books or unpaid fines, generates a downloadable PDF Clearance Certificate.
Billing & Maintenance
Track daily late fines, issue bills for damaged/lost books, and maintain a log of books sent to the bindery/repair with condition tracking.
Automated Alerts
Cron jobs send "Pre-due" and "Overdue" notifications via Email or SMS. Configurable per-patron notification preferences.

PostGIS integration with Leaflet.js/Mapbox. Researchers search for materials (bathymetric maps, surveys) by drawing a bounding box on a map (e.g., Bay of Bengal).
Biological Data Linking (Darwin Core)
Darwin Core (DwC) metadata support. A thesis can digitally link to physical wet-lab specimens (fish vouchers) or raw datasets.
Global Interoperability (OAI-PMH)
OAI-PMH endpoints with Dublin Core metadata. Allows the central university and global networks (IAMSLIC/AquaDocs) to harvest metadata.

Database Security & Isolation
Multi-Tenant Architecture
Every core database table includes a library_id column to separate branch data. Postgres Row-Level Security (RLS) enforces isolation at the database level — not just in application code.

The entire library system runs on the librarian’s computer. Catalog, circulation, patrons, fines, reservations, theses, reports — all work without internet. Uses a built-in database. No server installation needed.
Cloud Sync (Optional)
Connect to shomoy.io to sync data across devices. When online, reads come from the cloud. When offline, the app uses local data and queues writes to sync later. Cloud sync requires a subscription.

Installation Guide
How to Install — Step by Step
No technical knowledge needed. If you can install a regular program, you can install this. Python is already included — you don’t need to install anything extra.
Download the App
Click the “Download for Windows” button above. A file called Banglai-Library-0.1.0-x64-setup.exe will download to your computer. It includes everything needed.
Run the Installer
Find the downloaded file in your Downloads folder and double-click it. Click “Yes” if Windows asks, then click “Install” and wait ~30 seconds for Start Menu shortcuts.
Open the Library
Find “Shomoy Library” in your Start Menu and click it. A window will open — this is your library system with all 25 modules ready to use.
Start Adding Books
Click “Catalog” → “Add New” to add your first book. To issue a book: click “Circulation” → “Issue Book”, select the book and patron, and click “Issue”.
